Parks and Recreation Dept.
The Preservation Plan was prepared by: Limbacher & Godfrey Architects
History
The Deep Eddy Bathhouse was built in 1936 for a total construction budget of $25,731.06. It was used as it was originally designed until it until the 1960's, when the Austin Natural Science Center took over the entry pavilion, ancillary rooms, and the women's dressing room.
To accommodate the pool functions, the men's dressing room was divided into the men's and
women's dressing rooms, with an administrative room in between.
The Austin Nature Center moved out in the 1980's. Later the roof began to fall in.
In 2003 the Bathhouse was listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
